About Nikola Stokanic

From Pencil Lines to Functional Living Spaces: designing better spaces for happier lives.

Nikola Stokanic Early Life

Everything I do, I do it for my son.

I’m a father first, but the journey getting here has truly been a rollercoaster ride.

I was born in Belgrade, Serbia, a small country known for passionate people and relentless spirit.

My childhood was shaped on the banks of the Danube River, where my father ran an amazing restaurant hosting the era’s legendary rock’n’roll bands. During the hot summers I manage the jet ski rentals and helping with the restaurant.

It was here, amidst lively crowds and unforgettable music, that I discovered my love for hospitality, inspired by my dad’s natural gift for making people happy.

But hospitality wasn’t my only passion. From an early age, I couldn’t stop drawing, everything from still life, realistic portraits to futuristic Star Wars-style spaceships filled my sketchbooks.

Soon, my interests evolved into architecture, as I became fascinated by how thoughtful design can transform ordinary spaces into extraordinary experiences.

Driven by a desire to learn and experience more, I pursued my formal education both in Europe and the United States. These diverse experiences shaped my perspective, blending Serbian warmth and hospitality with global innovation and modern techniques.

THINGS I LIKE

Nikola Stokanic architect, interior designer, home builder

Today, all these threads come together in my work with Denver Home Reshape.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: to enhance families’ and businesses’ lives through personalized, intelligent architectural and interior design solutions.

Every family and business has a unique story and personality. My job is to find that special solution that brings genuine joy. Every shape has its own character, and every space has its unique energy.

Understanding these relationships can significantly improve how people live and interact.

For me, having role models is incredibly important because their boldness, creativity, and vision continuously push me forward. They remind me to stay curious, keep experimenting, and never be afraid to stand out. By learning from their extraordinary lives and groundbreaking works, I can grow both professionally and personally, ensuring my designs don’t just look good-they also make a meaningful difference in people’s lives and help protect the planet for future generations.

ROLE MODELS AND INSPIRATION
LeonardoDaVinci

Leonardo da Vinci

My work is deeply inspired by some of history’s greatest creative minds. Leonardo da Vinci, with his endless curiosity and innovative projects like his ingenious self-supporting bridge-reminds me that true creativity never ends. As an architect, mathematician, and physicist, da Vinci wasn’t afraid to cross disciplines.

I’m amazed by how he understood the physics behind structural stability centuries ahead of his time, solving complex problems with simple yet revolutionary ideas. His approach challenges me to think deeper and to always explore beyond traditional boundaries.

Frank Lloyd Wright

Frank Lloyd Wright’s work deeply resonates with me because he masterfully integrated architecture with nature, creating spaces that felt like natural extensions of their surroundings.

His iconic project, Fallingwater, particularly inspires me, as it beautifully demonstrates harmony between built environments and the natural world. Wright taught me the importance of respecting the land, using materials thoughtfully, and crafting spaces that uplift the human experience by connecting us directly to nature.

Zaha Hadid

Zaha Hadid inspires me profoundly because she fearlessly redefined architecture through her daring use of organic shapes and fluid forms.

Her ability to seamlessly blend artistic expression with engineering precision opened new possibilities in architectural design, challenging conventional norms and transforming urban landscapes.

Her determination, especially as a pioneering woman in a male-dominated field, constantly reminds me to push past limitations and boldly innovate in my own projects.

The latest study shows that the universe may be filled with diamonds, but wood something uniquely precious exists only here on Earth.

MY UPCOMING PROJECT

Giving something back to society

Sustainability and eco-friendly practices are central to my approach.

I believe passionately in combining modern architecture with smarter materials, optimized processes, and renewable energy. I have deep respect for nature and its gifts. The universe may be filled with diamonds, but wood, something uniquely precious, exists only here on Earth.

What our planet gives us freely far surpasses anything all the world’s economies combined could ever produce.

My journey, from a creative Serbian kid dreaming beside the Danube to an entrepreneur reshaping homes and businesses in Denver and beyond serving clients nationwide, is driven by my dedication to family, creativity, and sustainability.

My mission is clear: to leave this world better, brighter, and kinder for my son and future generations.
